Are Kyusho No Touch Knockouts Real?

Kyusho No Touch Knockouts

Kyusho No Touch Knockouts

Perhaps the most controversial subject in all of martial arts today,  are if Kyusho No Touch Knockouts are real. There are certainly players on both side of this questions. So today lets address what is real, and what is myth!

Kyusho No Touch Knockouts

One of the things I always find funny about my industry is those who will get on their knees in homage of a master of old, yet mock anyone today who claims the same ability. But it is what it is, right?

Typically speaking those in opposition to Kyusho, No Touch Knockouts etc are people who have either failed to understand the material, people too lazy to do the work. Or closed minded egotist who just can't help but hide behind a keyboard and mock people who are actually doing the work. Kinda pathetic really!

I have actually had someone tell me I am hypnotizing people into believing what I teach.  I say thank you to this! Imagine the abilities I must possess to be able do this! I think he was trying to mock me. Shows the intellect doesn't it?

So with that out of the way lets again look at the question. Are Kyusho No Touch Knockouts Real? The short answer is YES, Kyusho No Touch Knockouts are real. But I also must qualify this yes!

Are Kyusho No Touch Knockouts Real?

The basic idea behind a Kyusho No Touch Knockout is to harmonize with the Uki's Chi and turn it off momentarily. This is an over simplified answer, but essentially correct!

Kyusho No Touch Kncokouts

Kyusho No Touch Knockouts

Patterns of Energy in the hand.  Note the high intensity of HT-08

Now I have stated many times in the past I see no street application for this phenomenon. However I am certainly not the most accomplished in the world at this practice. I have a solid working knowledge and understanding. But there are people who certainly must be better!

At my level the Uki needs to be open to the experience, and therefore his "aura" is receptive to my energy. In a self defense situation the attackers "aura" is closed and would require a tremendous amount of energy to penetrate. I am not saying it is impossible, just improbable!

Here is an example of a Kyusho No Touch I did many years ago.

Kyusho No Touch Knockouts

It takes a lot of work to become proficiency at this area of Kyusho Jitsu. I believe it is a very important part of the study of the science of pressure point self defense because it builds body Chi and FOCUS which is critical in all of training and life!

Here are some truths to understand.

  • No Touch Knockouts can be dangerous to the Uki and should only be practiced by those who understand the risks and have been trained properly!
  • They can also cause medical issues with the practitioner! Again you need to study the materials and understand all the ins and outs of Kyusho No Touch Knockouts
Learning Kyusho No Touch Knockouts

The first important thing to understand is that all knockouts, including Kyusho No Touch Knockouts are neurological!  It is best to understand how and why this works!

The second step in development is Chi Building. Without the Chi in the body being high, and without the ability to control it, you will not be successful! Check out both links above! These are essential materials!

Now if you are serious about this area of study I have 2 suggestions for you to learn from! You need precise materials to get going! Otherwise the only thing you will develop is frustration!

How Kyusho Jitsu Knockouts Work

Kyusho Jitsu Knockouts

Kyusho Jitsu Knockouts

Kyusho Jitsu Knockouts

How do Kyusho Jitsu Knockouts work?  There are many people who ask this question online daily.  I monitor the Google Search results and see this phrase non stop.  Many people have opinions, and it is just that "opinions."  But the ones who say it does not work have simply not done the work or the research.

To those people I have no comment, I am not trying to convince any disbeliever.  I am talking to those who wish to truly understand what the FACTS are.

The Nervous System

Have you ever hit your "funny bone?" It is not funny that is for sure! When this happens you have hit the "Ulnar Nerve."

Triple Warmer Meridian

Triple Warmer Meridian

"In human anatomy, the ulnar nerve is a nerve that runs near the ulna bone. The ulnar collateral ligament of elbow joint is in relation with the ulnar nerve. The nerve is the largest unprotected nerve in the human body (meaning unprotected by muscle or bone), so injury is common. This nerve is directly connected to the little finger, and the adjacent half of the ring finger, innervating the palmar aspect of these fingers, including both front and back of the tips, perhaps as far back as the fingernail beds"

Your can read this entire article from Wikipedia HERE

But, remember what the "naysayers" remark. "Nerve strikes don't work!" Do you see how myopic some people are?

As I said I care less about these people opinions. What I dislike is that because they are "type a" personalities they WRONGLY influence people.  Investigate and think for yourself. Don't listen to these people. They just have no clue. But they "need" to be right.

Nerve Strikes - Kyusho Jitsu Knockouts

Learn Pressure Point Knockouts

Years ago when I work in assembly at Chrysler I was walking back to my job. As I passed a container I hit the back of my hand on one corner. The pain was unbearable! I lost use of the arm from the elbow to the fingertips. Even my shoulder ached!

I hit a nerve, the one at TW-3. It took about 30 minutes to recover.  But remember as these "naysayers" will tell, nerve strikes don't work! YEAH RIGHT! THEY WORK GREAT!

Everything in Kyusho Jitsu, the science is pressure point self defense is linked directly to nerve strikes.  The very definition of a pressure point relates to a nerve.  But there is one VERY important thing to add to all this information! Attacking pressure points, or nerves is NOT ABOUT LIGHT TOUCH. I do not know why that keeps coming up!

On the street you HIT HARD, but correctly! Light touch is so your training partner does not get injured!

ALL Knockouts are Neurological
Lose the Ego

To learn YOU MUST lost the EGO!

Every knockout, including Kyusho Jitsu Knockouts are neurological. You need to understand that your entire existence is neurologically based.  Even sleep and death are neurological events.

Here are the base 3 types of knockouts. The second is Kyusho Jitsu Knockouts.

1)CONCUSSION

Concussions are caused by blunt trauma to the head resulting in bruising or damage to one or more areas of the brain. This happens as the brain collides with the inside of the skull.

A concussion can be caused by heavy impact to the skull such as a martial arts strike, a fall, car accident, etc. However trauma does not always cause unconsciousness, but when it does it is a neurological event. Therefore these are very dangerous and can result in death.

2) NEUROLOGICAL

A neurological knockout is caused by a short circuit, overload, or imbalance in the central nervous system. [involving both the parasympathetic and sympathetic nervous systems.

Therefore this can be done using Kyusho Jitsu techniques

And these may also be caused by extreme stress, emotions, shock, or extreme trauma to any area of the body. [A broken bone or crushed limb for example]. Neurological knockouts also occur due to excessive use of drugs or alcohol.

3) CARDIO/RESPIRATORY

This type of knockout is caused by limiting the oxygen supply to the brain. Therefore this can be caused by choking or strangulation involving the air supply, the flow of blood or both. These can also be caused by impact to veins or arteries. Which cause a disruption in the flow of blood,  possibly dislodging plaque from the arterial walls causing clots.

This is part of the Dim Mak system of training.

Why POWER is not the ANSWER

There are many martial artists out there who believe in the idea of "punch or kick him hard in the head." There are so many issues with this one I cannot list them all! First the kind of power these people are talking about comes from anger. When you are angry you lose control of your motor skills.

You can miss very easy!

Plus you have no specific target in mind. Going for "impact" or in other words a concussion may not yield the results you are looking for! It takes time for the brain to swell and cause the "neurological" event of unconsciousness or a knockout.  I have had many concussions in my life and ONLY ONE caused me to lose consciousness and that was the first one.

So rather than focus on that one time power hit why would you not strike at the "occipital nerve" located at GB-20, or the "vagus nerve" branch at ST-05? These strikes, done correctly WILL cause  Kyusho Jitsu Knockouts.

Kyusho Jitsu Knockouts

Kyusho Jitsu Knockouts

Plus you are less likely to have "legal" issues as a result of your "fight" or "self defense" due to excess force or "overkill."

This is one of the many reasons we have a Humane Pressure Point Tactics course at Kyusho Jitsu University. Check it out!

Are Kyusho Jitsu Knockouts hard to learn?

The answer is NO they are not. But you have to do the study! This involves learning how these nerves work, how to properly activate them and then tying this back to your root art or self defense system.

I have many different eBooks and videos to help you. But you must overcome the inertia of human nature and do the work. I know that many of the "Understanding Neurological Pressure Point Knockouts" eBooks people have purchased have not been read! Humane nature is to be lazy! This is why so many FAIL in life.

Are Pressure Point Knockouts Real?

So Are Pressure Point Knockouts Real?

Lets get down to this question now, are Pressure Point Knockouts real? If you google this question you will see a dozen videos of people preforming pressure point knockouts but NO solid information about exactly how this can happen.

What is a Pressure Point Knockouts?
Pressure Point Knockouts

Pressure Point Knockouts

This is a knockout based on a Neurological Event as a result of a pressure point [nerve bundle] being stimulated.  But there are things we need to understand, to really be able to answer this question conclusively.

3 Different Types of Knockouts
Kyusho Knockout

Kyusho Knockout

Pressure Point Knockouts

The idea of pressure point knockouts is to attack the neurological system directly. This is done rather than just using the idea of blunt trauma. Therefore making neurological pressure point knockouts much more effective than other means.

It is important to note that all knockouts, no matter which of the 3 listed above are brain events. Death is also a neurological event.  So, why would someone not wish to take advantage of this in self defense?

The Problem with Most Knockout Demonstrations?
Kyusho Jitsu Knockouts

Kyusho Jitsu Knockouts

There is a problem with many of the pressure point knockouts videos on the Internet. They simply give the watcher the wrong impression. This causes controversy and bad mouthing because of lack of understanding. People prefer gossip over learning, and so questions are not asked.

The argument made by many "self defense experts" and I use that term loosely is they compare an MMA knockout to a pressure point knockout. They see the "light" hit from the Kyusho student and then make the claim it won't work!

No shit? Really? [sarcasm]

Do you know the average lifespan of a MMA fighter is 18 months? By this time they have accumulated so many serious injuries they need to stop.  So in self defense training NO ONE with a brain is going to power strike ST-05 to demonstrate a KNOCKOUT.  Who wants a partner with a fractured, or broken jaw?

Therefore setup is done so that a light strike can be used to demonstrate the affect of the nerve attack.  On the street, if the opportunity to strike Stomach 5 comes up, you would hit it as hard as the situation allows!

A Demo with Explanation

Below is an example of a pressure point knockout with a full explanation below.

How was this possible?

Very simply really. I attacked pressure point Spleen 11, which is associated with the femoral nerve, which lies on the femur bone. As mentioned in the explanation of neurological knockout above, a knockout can occur due to a broken bone.  This is common for the Femur also!

Spleen Meridian

Spleen Meridian

Because of the risk of rupture of the femoral artery if this bone breaks, the kick correctly placed will cause an overload of the nervous system This causes a neurological knockout.

I only used about 30 percent power in the kick. How did I get a result? I took him off balance first, which occupied the brain, therefore making it easier to overload the system.
