The Self Defense reality is always a scary thing. It comes in many flavor from street to domestic, to combat. It is never pretty, it is never glorious and for many people it leaves permanent scars. This is ONE of my stories, sadly there for me is more than one.
Back in 2006 I took my first of 2 trips to the beautiful, however turbulent country of Venezuela in South America. A few days before leaving to go visit friends there was a report of 3 children from my areas being abducted at the airport. There father was an important man in the fight against the evil socialist government of Venezuela. The children were murdered sadly. But the fact they were taken from the airport was a little alarming.
While there I was always surrounded by friends, in a groups of 4 or more. Also I was told to not talk to anyone, unless they were friends, as they did not want to broadcast me being a tourist, a gringo.
I spend 7 days in Valencia enjoying friends and a great time. The culture is beautiful, the people are wonderful, the crime is beyond belief. Everyday, sometimes several times per day a murder. You did not ever dare stop at a red light in the night as you maybe kill right in your car for your cellphone. The need for Self Defense, the Self Defense Reality was beyond imagination.
When it came time to go back to Canada no one wanted to drive me back to Caracas as problems has escalated during my stay. The highway between the 2 cities is a known issue and place for terrorist attacks, and they always end up in death. During the day is bad, nighttime is a death sentence.
Here is an image of Miss Venezuela Monica Spear and her Husband, murdered on this highway, If you wish to real the story here is the link.
Therefore because of the issues I booked a flight from Valencia to Caracas.
The airports are not actually in Caracas, they are outside in Maiquetía. There are 2 airports, one national and one international. They are separated by a 500 meter walk.
I was told to run the 500 meters between the 2 airports. It was not safe to just walk it. So at 7:00am in the morning myself and about 100 other people ran between the 2 airports. Once inside I assumed I was safe, I was wrong.
How it works is simple, because it happens all the time. I was approaching inside the airport by a man “claiming” to be customs, demanding to see my passport. You always see them before the approach and interview talking with terminal police. This makes them look official. When you hand over your passport they run outside. You follow because you need your passport. You are met outside by the gang who rob you, beat you and usual kill you. In daylight, in front of anyone there. In Venezuela they will kill you for your shoes.
The man approached me and demanded my passport, I refused. He threaten me with arrest. I still refused. Then he grabbed me. He reached to my shirt with his right hand, I covered this hand with my left do he was trapped, with my right I attacked Triple Warmer 11, his arm dislocated violently, he screamed and ran from the airport. The police officer he was talking to looked at me, smiled and walked away. Obviously part of the gang.
How did I know? I do my homework, I am aware of my surroundings, the attacker presented no government ID. Plus they would never approach you in this part of the airport. I was prepared. I was vigilant!
My knowledge of Kyusho Jitsu is almost clinical. George Dillman calls Kyusho “one second fighting” and this was, one hit, properly executed, in one second.
Did Kyusho Jitsu save my life? My years of dedicated training, situational awareness and Kyusho Jisut as a combination did. The art and science of pressure point self defense is a game changer. The people who say it does not work and either too lazy to study or not able to study. Their opinions are WORTHLESS,therefore don’t listen to people who are failures. Consequently listen to those who and have done it!
Furthermore if you are new to the pressure point world consider joining our FREE Kyusho Jitsu Mini Course.
