There are no real secrets to getting good, solid neurological knockouts other than knowing your Kyusho Principles. But you can’t just know then from memory, you need to think about them, apply them, as see them everywhere. Plus once you truly, truly understand and can apply the principles knockouts get EASY, then you even do some accidentally.
I have been doing these knockouts for at least 15 years. I have honestly lost track of dates when I started. All of my certificates are on the wall in my Dojo in Canada. I keep forgetting to ask someone to take some good pictures and send them to me so I can post them.
Below is a video of some Bunkai I was doing on an ITF Pattern, Dan Gun. Now the pure TKD people won’t get this because we do the pattern a little different. But hopefully they will see it anyways.
What I was teaching on that class that night was purely interpretation of Kata movements. I did not plan on doing the knockout, but I was asked about the 360 degree turn in the pattern.
