What works on the streets and what does not? Usually the people who decide something does not work on the streets do so because they got in trouble and had their asses handed to them. So the opinion is not really relevant!
What works in the streets? Things that art part of your automatic response system. You cannot stand there and “think” of what technique to use, you must respond to what is happening.
There are many aspects to this, there is no easy fix black and white solution! However, if you do the work, do the training, do the study you can certainly use pressure points / kyusho jitsu in a combat / street situation!
As i have said before, I have a student who used it very effectively in several hand to hand situations in Afghanistan and I also know a Chicago cop who managed to subdue an attacker on PCP.
Personally I have also had great success.
Right now I am finishing a book on using Kyusho Jitsu in street situations. This book is NOT for someone who like to bar fight. Once your ego becomes involved like these situations, plus the addition of alcohol things change.
it is however for some who is looking to learn to “protect” themselves and their loved ones in bad situations!
