I just read online an old article in Black Belt Magazine with regards to Pressure Points / Kyusho Jitsu. It was a good article! I will leave you a link to check it out too!
Now the question, will / do pressure points work in real self defense or fighting situations. The answer? There is no answer because it depends entirely on the person using them.
This is true of ANY martial art. I have heard, seen and read all the propaganda about other arts and systems guaranteeing a persons safety and ability. Sorry dude, that is BS.
The ability to defend or fight is something within the person themselves. Some people no matter how long they train don’t have violence within them. End of story.
I have had students, once in particular who has many times been successful with pressure points, and for him it was REAL combat, and not some asshole in a bar wants to fight.
Martial Artist are very different people. Open your mind and make your own judgement. I love pressure points, but I am tired of conflict. Seen too much action in my life, and so i life in a quiet and peaceful place!
Here is that article
